His artistic executant was Frieda, Lady Harris (1877 - 1962), who painted the cards in the early years of World War II, from 1938 to 1942.
Lady Harris had to paint several versions of some cards before Crowley approved them .
Although she knew little about the 爱游戏电子|爱游戏网址|爱游戏投注 or its symbolism, her artistic genius brought Crowley's visions & designs to life.
The resulting desck succeds in expressing his esoteric ideas & teachings, making them intuitively accessible to everyone.
They first appeared in Crowley's last masterwork, The Book of Thoth (1944) & were first published as a set of printed cards in 1971.
